Fire protection ... a tradition in Freiberg for over 80 years now

Established as the Institute for Mining Safety, the 80-year tradition of fire protection continues in Freiberg with MPA Dresden GmbH.

Founded in 1990, the MPA Dresden GmbH serves as a testing, inspection and certification centre, as well as a consulting engineering office for constructional, organisational and supervisory fire protection.

The MPA Dresden GmbH is an exceptional, international centre of excellent in regards to fire protection.

Fire extinguishing tests outside of the standard parameters

In the past month, an unusual fire test was carried out at MPA Dresden GmbH. Due to official demands, the manufacturer of grease fire extinguishers had to prove the extinguishing abilities on a test object, which didn’t comply with test standards.

“1-metre furnace” put into operation

At the MPA Dresden GmbH, a “1-metre furnace” was successfully put into operation. Through the ingenious setup of the furnace, customised fire tests on a variety of test specimens are possible.
